Emergency Room
Staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, our ER receives and treats patients with health care needs ranging from minor illnesses and injuries to multiple trauma and life-threatening problems.
 Special Care Unit (SCU)
SCU provides around-the-clock critical care nursing for acutely ill patients. Specially trained personnel closely monitor patients with the help of state-of-the-art equipment.
Med/Surg Unit
The Med/Surg Unit gives direct patient care to patients of all ages with a variety of acute and chronic illnesses and surgeries. The Unit provides 24-hour observation and acute stays, as well as swing beds.
Surgery
West Central's Surgery Department is equipped and staffed with specially trained personnel to address scheduled and emergency cases including minor surgery, orthopaedic surgery, general surgery and endoscopy procedures.
Ambulatory Care
WCCH provides ambulatory care for a variety of patients including outpatient surgeries, 24-hour holding, blood administration, chemotherapy treatment and IV antibiotic therapy.
Obstetrics
West Central's OB Unit is a four-bed inpatient unit for low-risk mothers and infants. West Central offers childbirth classes on a regular basis. Call (765) 832-1234 and ask for the obstetrics nurse. Learn more about our department by clicking here.
Outpatient Therapy Services

Outpatient Clinic
Rotating physician specialists holding office hours near the hospital make it possible for patients to receive care close to home in specialties such as oncology, urology, orthopaedics and pulmonology.
Radiology
Providing quality diagnostic testing for the residents of Parke and Vermillion counties, our Radiology Department offers inpatient and outpatient services in nuclear medicine, general radiology, CAT Scan, ultrasound and mammography.
Respiratory Therapy
Our staff performs pulmonary function exams for inpatients and outpatients and cares for patients' respiratory needs, ranging from monitoring and administering oxygen to maintaining ventilators.
Cardiac Services
West Central's Cardiac Department offers diagnostic/prognostic testing for cardiovascular disease, stress testing, holter monitors, cardiac ultrasound with color flow and inpatient cardiac rehabilitation therapy.
Laboratory Services
West Central contracts with Terre Haute Medical Laboratories, Inc. for 24-hour laboratory services for outpatients, inpatients, emergency room patients and nursing homes. Most testing is done at our facility, and courier service is available for testing done at the main lab location in Terre Haute.
