Medical Rehabilitation Center

What to Bring

We want to simulate everyday life, not promote a sense of illness, so patients in Medical Rehabilitation wear street clothes to therapy instead of hospital gowns. Generally, loose fitting clothes are best. For example: jogging pants, pullover tops, loose socks and tennis shoes. Dresses are discouraged because of mat exercises and transfers. Family members are responsible for labeling and washing the clothing.

Adaptive Equipment:

In order to promote your highest degree of independence, your therapist may request that you bring any type of assistive devices (walkers, canes, reachers, sockaids, etc.) that you used prior to your hospitalization.

We recommend that you do not buy any equipment or make any home modifications until you discuss it with your physician or therapist. He or she can help you decide on the best equipment suited for your needs. Also, if your insurance covers equipment, it may require a prescription from your physician for reimbursement.
