Therapeutic Passes

To help you prepare for discharge, you will have the opportunity to practice your new skills at home during a therapeutic day or evening pass. The person assisting you during the pass must complete specific training in medical concerns, the use of medication, and toilet and car transfers prior to the pass. Before leaving on the day pass, you and the team will set goals for you to work on while away from the hospital. When you return from a pass, a nurse will talk with you about goals achieved and any problems you had. This information will be shared with team members so they can assist you in solving problems you encountered at home before you are discharged.
