Patient Services


Kitchens

The kitchens are stocked with beverages and snacks for patient use. Food may be brought from home. Food containers must be marked with the patient's name and the date. For your safety, please ask for assistance from any staff person before using the equipment in the kitchen areas.

Leisure Opportunties
Please consider taking some time to enjoy our freshwater tropical fish located in the activity room. Also available in the activity room for your convenience we offer board games, crossword puzzles, a library and word search activities. While you are there, please help yourself to coffee and hot tea.

We are also pleased to offer our patients and their visitors opportunities to expieriance or continue the freedom of using the World Wide Web and email on the Medical Rehabilitation Unit. The internet kiosks are located in the activity room.

Newspapers

A Terre Haute newspaper is delivered to the unit every morning for general patient use. There are vending boxes with area newspapers located in the main lobby of the hospital.

Television

Each patient has access to a television in his or her room. There is also a television in the activity room. Your nurse will instruct you on how to operate these. The unit also has a videotape player and a video game player available for patient use. These services are offered free of charge.

Telephones

Bedside telephones are available for personal use. You must remember to dial the number 9 before placing a call outside the hospital.

Clergy
Clergy of all denominations are available on-call 24 hours a day. They provide spiritual support for the patients and families in dealing with bereavement and coping with changes in the family. They may be contacted by dialing information, 0, on your hospital phone, or through the nursing staff.
