Expectation of Ethical Conduct for All Medical
Rehabilitation Staff

The people we serve should expect the staff of the Medical Rehabilitation Unit to practice these principles:

• Staff will adhere to their professional guidelines and ethical standards.
• Staff qualifications, roles and responsibilities are defined in orientation materials.
• Staff are to maintain the highest ethical conduct in communications with all persons served.
• Services are targeted at persons who are likely to benefit from our program.
• Expectations and outcomes will be discussed in ways that those served can understand.
• In all instances the needs and rights of the persons served are the basis for decision making.
• Staff will protect patient rights. Those rights are listed in the orientation manual.
• Allegations of violations of ethical standards will be addressed promptly when brought to the attention of any staff person.
