Going Home: Siblings

Brothers & Sisters

Sometimes brothers and sisters have a hard time accepting a new baby in their home, especially if they have been an "only" child.
Things to do:

  • Have a "special" present or two for him from you.
  • When he sees you for the first time in the hospital, you should not be holding the baby until you have a chance to give him some hugs.
  • Let him hold and touch the baby as much as he wants (with help from an adult, of course).
  • Spend extra time with him doing his favorite things.
