Ultrasound

Ultrasound (Sonography) uses high frequency sound waves above the range of human hearing to produce images of a body part on a computer screen. There is no radiation involved and ultrasounds are safe to have performed. Ultrasound may also be used to image structures that do not move. Ultrasound is also used to guide needle biopsies in order to obtain tissue samples to be analyzed by a pathologist.

You will be asked to lie on an exam table for your examination that your physician has ordered.
