Labor & Delivery

Your partner and another person of your choice may be with you at all times during your labor and delivery. Other family members and friends may visit for short periods. Limiting the number of people during labor and delivery will ensure your safety and privacy. It also allows more room for additional personnel to assist with your care should the need arise.

To assist us in providing a safe and private environment, we ask that family members and friends use the Maternity waiting room or the main lobby instead of waiting in the hallway or outside your door.

You and your baby are at risk for infections, so anyone with you in labor should be healthy and free of fever, cold or flu symptoms. Hand washing is necessary when visiting and touching the baby. Cleanliness is especially necessary for anyone with you during labor and delivery.

Patient BedAfter your delivery, those who leave the room will be able to come back into the room after you and your baby have received your care. This helps to keep infection risk low. Due to medical, legal and insurance reasons, video cameras may NOT be used during delivery.

The only children under 14 who are allowed to visit during the hospitalization are siblings.

After Deluvery

Postpartum Visitation
The baby's dad (or other designated visitor) will be able to visit 24 hours a day. For all other visitors, visiting hours are 12 noon to 8 p.m.

Infant TableIf you wish to limit visitors further, let your nurse know. Visitors should not come to see you if they are getting sick, have a sore throat, cold or fever, or have recently been exposed to a contagious illness (like chickenpox).

According to hospital policy, only those 15 years and older are allowed on patient floors. However, siblings are permitted. Up to four people may be in a room at one time, depending on your condition. Other visitors should wait in the lounge or main lobby. Please keep the hallways clear and quiet. This is for safety, privacy and consideration of all our patients.
