Visitors and Guests

Visiting Hours
Visits from loved ones are important to your healing and emotional health. Rest, privacy and safety are also vital to your health and well-being. To respect the rest, privacy and safety of you and your roommate, we limit visitors to two per patient at a time. Your caregivers may ask visitors to step out of the room momentarily to insure the privacy of you or your roommate. They may also ask visitors to leave for extended times to insure proper rest for you and your roommate. An adult must accompany children visiting.

Intensive Care, Maternity/Obstetrics, Neonatal Intensive Care and Pediatrics each have restricted visiting hours. Please ask about specific visiting hours in those areas.

Overnight visitors must register and wear a name badge to insure the security of our patients and staff. Please talk to the nurse about registering with security.

Shhh, Patients are Trying to Rest
Peaceful rest is one of the most important parts of healing. Please help us help you and all patients by:

  • Limiting visitors to two per patient at one time.
  • Maintaining low voices in all areas of the hospital.
  • Making incoming and outgoing phone calls between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m.

Smoking
For the health of our patients, visitors, employees and physicians, Union Hospital and all Union Hospital Health Group facilities and properties are smoke free - inside and out. No smoking is permitted anywhere on our campuses. Physicians may order nicotine replacement therapy (patches, gum, etc.) for patients who smoke and feel they need help while staying with us. Speak with your doctor or nurse if you'd like this option. Thank you for caring for the health of everyone in our facilities.

Visitor Rest Rooms
Visitors must not use rest rooms in patient rooms to protect themselves and others from infection. Visitor rest rooms are centrally located on each patient floor. Baby changing stations are located in the rest rooms in the main lobby between the gift shop and admitting desk, and near the Green Room in the lower level of Union Hospital. Wheelchair-accessible rest rooms are located in the main lobby between the gift shop and admitting desk, on the third floor and the lower level of Union Hospital.

Cafeteria and Vending Areas
Meals are available daily for visitors in the Union Station Café, lower level Union Hospital West, next to the main elevators. For the day's menu, call extension 5580.
