Why Medical Rehabilitation Works

At Union Hospital's Medical Rehabilitation Unit, our approach to rehabilitation sets us apart from other programs.

We offer specialized services which include:
- patient and family education,
- emphasis on community re-entry,
- discharge planning,
- home evaluations,
- orthotics/prosthetics/adaptive equipment consultations,
- referrals for support groups, and
- driver assessment and referrals.
Through our commitment to the concepts of rehabilitation, our skilled staff helps the patient and family learn new ways to perform life skills and successfully re-enter the home and the community.
We believe that family involvement in a patient's rehabilitation program can be instrumental in its success. Therefore, education, training and support of the family as well as the patient is a priority.
Our size allows the staff to give personal concern and highly individualized attention to each person.
