Maternity Services: Your Pregnancy

Our family-centered maternity program believes that the birth of a baby should be a celebration for the entire family. We encourage fathers to get involved, first, by attending the birth, and afterwards, by learning how to care for the infant. The entire family is encouraged to share in this joy and, as such, prepared childbirth classes are offered by our childbirth educators at the Union Hospital Maternity Services Follow-up Center. These classes include opportunities for the grandparents to learn about newborn care as well as preparing the sibling for the new arrival. In addition, there are classes on breastfeeding and infant massage.

At Union Hospital, we have Certified Lactation Counselors to assist with the challenges of breastfeeding. These counselors are available to assist before, during, and after delivery with all of your infant needs and concerns. In addition, our newly opened Breastfeeding Center, located in the Union Hospital Maternity Services Follow-up Center, provides breast pumps for rental and/or purchase, nursing bras, and accessories.
