A Mishler

Anne Mishler, MSN, CNM
Certified Nurse Midwife for ten years who has a strong belief in natural childbirth and empowerment of women to accomplish the same. Anne has 33 years of obstetrical nursing experience including work as a nurse midwife at Woman-to-Woman Healthcare in Anderson, IN and the Healthnet Midwifery Services in Indianapolis. She is a certified HypnoBirthing Instructor and teaches HypnoBirthing at The Maple Center.


B Battista

Barbara Battista, RPh, PA-C
Spanish-speaking physician assistant who currently spends approximately 3/5 of her time providing care to Maternal Health Clinic patients. She also works at St. Ann's Clinic and at the Center for Family Medicine.


K. Steinstra

Kathleen Stientstra, MD
Medical Director of the Maternal Health Clinic is part time faculty for The Family Medicine Residency. She is board certified in Family Medicine and Holistic Medicine with longstanding interests in pregnancy and birth.


M Huffman

Mary Huffman, BSN, MSM
Half time manager for the Maternal Health Clinic. Mary has over 20 years of experience in perinatal nursing, childbirth education, and lactation support. She has a master of science degree in management and is a certified as a doula, doula trainer, and childbirth educator.


D Stevens

Deborah Stevens
LMFT, CADACII

Licensed marriage and family therapist who also is certified in addiction care. As the PSUPP (Prenatal Substance Use Prevention Program) Director, Debbie focuses on education/counseling and referring pregnant women regarding substance use during pregnancy. She has facilitated groups for at risk teens, single parents, and tobacco cessation for teens and adults.



L Dever

Laura Dever, BSW
Licensed social worker that has worked with Maternal Health for 18 years. Laura assesses new patients, enrolls qualified clients in Hoosier Healthwise, and assures that they are referred to all available services throughout pregnancy. She has a special interest in adoption and is working to develop an adoption resource center.



N Haynes

Nancy Haynes,
BSW/Prenatal Care Coordinator

Provides initial assessments and then follows all moderate to high-risk clients throughout their pregnancy and postpartum period. She provides home visits, education, and information about available resources in the area.


M Hampton

Michelle Hampton, RN, RDMS
Registered sonographer and nurse. She has over 13 years experience working in Med/Surgery, OB and Mental Health as a registered nurse. Michelle has been doing ultrasounds for the past 3 years with specialties in OB/GYN and abdomen ultrasounds for the Maternal Health Clinic.


J Allen

Janett Allen, RN, BSN
Nurse coordinator and certified lactation counselor providing care to Maternal Health clients for 18 years. Janett also has experience as a community health nurse for Parke County and as a nurse in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit at Union Hospital.


S Clouter

Stephanie Cloutier, LPN
Staff nurse with previous experience in a hospital setting. She is thrilled to be working with women during their pregnancy and after the baby is born as well.


A Alexander

Annette Alexander
Doula Coordinator and PRN receptionist, Annette has ten years experience as a childbirth educator and has worked in the labor room as a doula since 1998. She has experience teaching pre and postnatal exercise and has a degree in marketing and banking through AIB. Annette is also a certified HypnoBirthing Instructor and teaches HypnoBirthing at The Maple Center.


T Lee

Tenna Lee
Associates Degree in Computer Science/Office Management, has several years of experience and is the lead receptionist for the Maternal Health Clinic.

Nicole Page
Part-time receptionist for The Maternal Health Clinic. She also works part-time at The Maple Center coordinating the programs that are developed through the not-for- profit agency.
