printUNION HOSPITAL IMAGING SERVICES

Diagnostic Radiology

Diagnostic Radiology or General Radiology is the most commonly used way to see inside of the body.  The images are obtained by placing a cassette under the part being x-rayed. Union Hospital uses Computed Radiography and Digital Radiography to produce x-ray images.  These are types of
x-rays that can produce an image on a computer screen instead of using film. The areas of General Radiology can include fluoroscopy (live images of the body while organs function), surgery (cases that need images taken during surgery) portable radiography (patients who are unable to be transported to the radiology department), Gastrointestinal studies and kidney studies.

In the Radiology Department you may be asked to either lie on a table or
stand up for the exam you are having done.

If you have any questions about the exam that your doctor has ordered please contact your physician.
