Cardiac Surgery/CCU

The Hux Cardiovascular Center has an excellent cardiac surgery program. Our surgeons perform more than 350 open heart surgeries each year, including coronary bypass surgery and valve replacement.

Heart patients who need intensive care during their stay at Union Hospital are placed in the Coronary Care Unit, which features the latest monitoring equipment and is staffed with nurses specially trained in cardiac care. Heart patients who require less intensive care stay in Union's Progressive Care Unit.
