Shadowing
- How do you know if nursing is the right
career path for you, or that Union Hospital Health Group is the
facility that will support you clinically in your career? See
for yourself!
- Shadow an RN in the area of your choice
to confirm your desire for the field and facility.
- Contact Volunteer Services (812) 238-7674.
How Do I Get Started
In Nursing?
- Decide whether you want a 2-year (ASN) or
a 4-year (BSN) degree. Both degrees will prepare you for all types
of bedside nursing as an RN. If you see yourself pursuing leadership,
management and/or education, typically a BSN is required.
- Talk to a high school counselor to assist
with class scheduling.
- Contact local colleges and universities
to learn about the programs they offer and contact their nursing
education department head for more information.
