Ways To Give

Each gift to the Union Hospital Foundation supports improvements in medical care and health that benefit those who live in the Wabash Valley. The Union Hospital Foundation is authorized to accept most types of gifts. Donors are encouraged to determine the type of gift that will best meet ones personal financial objectives. We assist donors with evaluating gift plans to identify the best gift arrangement for the donor.

Current Gifts

Cash:
By Check or Credit Card (MasterCard or Visa)

Appreciated Property:
Publicly Traded Securities, Closely Held Securities or Real Estate

Deferred Gifts

Bequest:
A bequest is as simple as adding a codicil to your will. A bequest can be made for a specific amount, a percentage of the total estate or the estate remaining after expenses and gifts to other beneficiaries have been made. This is the most popular form of planned gift and may provide valuable estate tax savings.

Life Insurance:
A simple way for a Donor to make a leadership commitment is to give a life insurance policy to the Union Hospital Foundation. The Donor may accomplish this by giving a policy that is no longer needed or by naming the Union Hospital Foundation as the beneficiary of an existing policy. A gift of life insurance may provide the Donor with savings on income taxes.

Charitable Gift Annuity:
A Donor who establishes a Charitable Gift Annuity (CGA) makes an irrevocable gift of cash, securities or real estate to the Union Hospital Foundation and in return receives payment of a fixed amount per year for the life of one or two people. The CGA may provide a Donor with income tax and estate tax savings.

Charitable Remainder Trust:
A Charitable Remainder Trust (CRT) enables a Donor to establish a trust for the Donor’Äôs benefit, that provides income from the assets placed in the trust. A CRT may provide savings on Capital Gains Taxes, savings on Estate Taxes and improve the income earned from assets in the trust.

Charitable Lead Trust:
A Charitable Lead Trust enables a Donor to establish a trust that pays income to the Union Hospital Foundation for a fixed number of years. At the termination of the Trust the remainder is returned to the Donor or the Donor’Äôs designated beneficiary.
